Understanding your potential- Myles Munroe

Lately, I’ve been reading the book, Understanding your Potential by Dr Myles Munroe and I just wanted to do a quick review on it, just in case there are people out there wanting to know more about the book and what they can gain from it.

Myles Munroe opens the book and delves into the ways in which a man can first of all identify his/her potential, and second of all, make sure that he/she fulfills their potential.

He highlights that one must remain connected to their Source in order to fulfill their potential and fulfill their purpose, highlighting that without the branch we, the vine, can do nothing and can achieve nothing. He also proposes that we need to thing back to our childhood dreams and move from just dreaming and imagining to doing and fulfilling.

This is more than a motivational book however, as it points us to the sad realty which is that the majority of people will never fulfill their potential. The unlimited well of power deposited in them by God in creation will never be tapped into because of a lack of willingness to take action; because of a lack of desire.

For this he highlighted the Bible verse,  ‘You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.’ (Jeremiah 29:13). Here, he highlights the need for a desire and shows that without a desire that this thing you want to achieve, you’re willing to die for it in order to achieve; that without this tenacity we will not be able to fulfil out destinies.

This book really spoke to me as it spoke to a desire that has been inside me for the longest time in that, I’ve always felt that there was more to be but I didn’t know how to manifest the rest of me, and how to accomplish that desire but I feel like this book really gave clear directions and clear help. And, most importantly, it made me think.
