A poem for the night

Feeling a bit nostalgic today so I decided to post a short poem. It’s been a while but I’ll try to channel my inner poetess…

The night draws nigh,
You call to me with an anxious expression, I wait with bated breath for your words
You’d suffered long enough,
Waiting for acceptance from a world which was never capable to offer you acceptance
You fold over yourself, clothed with a cloak the shade of red
Red as the fading day
I reach for you and fold you into the warmth of my heart
Faith will heal us on this cold, cold day
Receive love from the only One who can save and validate
Receive love from the only One who can save and validate
The cold words of this world will cut you but the blood of the loved One will heal you
Until this world is past…

“…This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Matthew 3:17 (NKJV)
